Buying a home in Rhein-Main: personal guidance from search to notary
Whether you are relocating for work or moving closer to family, we help you find a home and understand each step of a German property purchase.
DEKRA-Sachverständiger im Haus · IVD · Büros in Darmstadt und Bensheim
Buying a home in Germany follows its own rules and rhythm. The notary plays a central role, documents are usually in German, and several costs come on top of the purchase price. If you are new to the market or new to the country, this can feel unfamiliar. We explain each step in clear terms.
vono Living is a real estate agency with offices in Darmstadt and Bensheim. We work in the Rhein-Main area, along the Bergstrasse, in the district of Darmstadt-Dieburg and in the Rhein-Neckar region. Many of our clients are relocating for work, returning to the region or moving closer to family.
We do not give legal, tax or financing advice. Questions about contracts, taxes and mortgages are best answered by a notary, a tax adviser and your bank. We help you prepare for those conversations and stay with you until the notary appointment.

FAQ
Häufige Fragen
Can I buy property in Germany as a foreigner?
In general, yes. Requirements can depend on your personal situation and your financing. Please ask the notary and your bank about the details.
Do you work in English?
Yes, we can guide you in English. Contracts and official documents are normally in German, and the notary explains the contract before signing.
What costs come on top of the purchase price?
Besides the price there are additional costs such as notary and land registry fees, property transfer tax and, in some cases, agent fees. We explain the items in the initial consultation, before any costs arise.
What is the role of the notary?
The notary prepares and records the purchase contract, explains it to both parties and handles the transfer of ownership. The notary is neutral and not an adviser of one side.
Can I view properties remotely?
You can see photos, video and, for suitable properties, a 360-degree tour before visiting. We bundle viewings so that you travel as little as possible.
Can you help me sell my current home as well?
Yes. We value, market and guide a sale up to the notary, and we can coordinate it with your purchase.
